For the past 20+ years, the TSPE Travis Chapter has partnered with Ortega Elementary to invite students to have a fancy lunch with Santa, and sponsors present gifts to their student partner. This year, we are excited about holding the Annual Holiday Party on Wednesday, December 11 at Holiday Inn Austin Midtown.

If you are sponsoring a student and plan on being at the party to present your gift to your student, please make sure to register beforehand!

If you are sponsoring a student and don't plan on being at the party, please consider sending a colleague in your place (they will need to register) OR coordinate with Adeliza Ramirez (adeliza.ramirez@volkert.com) to make sure your gift makes it to the party and your student!

A history lesson from long-time member, Therese Baer:
The 1st Annual Travis Chapter Children's Christmas Party was in December 1989. Thanks to the Travis Chapter President at the time, John Wooley, PE, who didn't want to rent a tuxedo, or "monkey suit" as he called it, an alternative to the annual couples Christmas Dinner Dance had to be found. ACEA soon followed Travis Chapter TSPE's footsteps and also began sponsoring an Annual Children's Christmas Party. Since 1989, TSPE Travis Chapter and ACEA have sponsored close to 2,000 children from low-income areas, providing them with gifts for what might have otherwise been a sparse Christmas.
