TSPE is the only society in Texas whose voice speaks for all branches of engineering.

devoted to the

Professional, Ethical, Economic, Social, and Political
Aspects of Engineering.

The Texas Society of Professional Engineers, founded in 1936, serves the interests of the individual engineer in Texas across all disciplines of engineering. TSPE is the only active, established organization devoting its entire effort to the professional, ethical, economic, social and political aspects of engineering. TSPE is the Texas arm of the National Society of Professional Engineers.

The Travis Chapter is in TSPE Region III. It includes all of the Austin regional area, from Waco to San Marcos and Fredericksburg, Texas. The Chapter meets the second Wednesday of each month from September through May and also hosts a variety of other programs and social events throughout the year.

Founded in 1934, The National Society of Engineers strengthens the engineering profession by promoting engineering licensure and ethics, enhancing the engineer image, advocating and protecting PEs’ legal rights at the national and state levels, publishing news of the profession, providing continuing education opportunities, and much more.

The Professional Engineers Leadership Institute is unique to TSPE. Learn innovative techniques you can apply in the workplace that will lead you to grow into a more effective and successful leader.

If you would like to attend the PE Leadership Institute or request additional information, please send us an email.

TSPE-Travis Chapter members bring gifts to a group of underprivileged elementary school students during the holidays.

We also help shape the future of the engineering profession by volunteering at MATHCOUNTS, a national math competition held for middle school students each year.
